Each physical therapy program is tailored to the individual patient's needs and can include one or more types or therapy and modalities. The patient's physician usually coordinates with the efforts of the physical therapist to decide on the best program and the frequency/duration of treatment. The duration of the program depends on the injury/illness being treated and the patient's response to therapy. Please feel free to print out/fill out the forms we have online before your first appointment and bring them in with you.
Direct Access gives patients access to physical therapy for their first 10 visits or first 30 days from the start of treatment, without a prescription from a physician. After your first 10 visits/30 days, we contact your physician and insurance company and get approval for continued therapy as necessary.
Due to strict Medicare guidelines, we do encourage Medicare patients to call their primary care physician and obtain a prescription before they begin physical therapy.
